Job Purpose

We seek a top-performing technical leader with the passion, experience and gravitas to motivate and lead a team of talented engineers developing Sophos’ next-generation Cloud Platform for the Endpoint Security Group. The ideal candidate will be high energy, team-oriented, customer-driven problem solver with prior experience in delivering highly scalable and easy to use products for small businesses and enterprises.

Main Duties
  • Lead, motivate and grow the engineering team
  • Recruit, hire and retain top technical talent
  • Accelerate the pace of product development by executing on the Central Platform for the Endpoint Security Group’s roadmap
  • Constantly improve our engineering processes, team practices and predictability
  • Build strong relationships with peers and executives across the Products organization
  • Create and refine a fun and effective engineering culture
  • Work with the global teams based in the Abingdon, Boston and Vancouver offices

Skills & Experience
  • Experience leading brilliant technologists and engineering teams
  • Track record of successfully delivering cloud-based products in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Deep understanding of SaaS/PaaS cloud architecture, ideally using AWS
  • Passion for building and automating quality into the software development lifecycle
  • Ability to drive decision-making processes to consensus and execute projects to completion
  • A strong interest in building UX, services and infrastructure in a cloud environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Either prior experience or a passion to learn the world of internet security and the Sophos product set
