It’s an exciting time to join Kuehne+Nagel - we’re a world leading logistics organisation and our UK business is growing. We now have an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Milton Keynes based team.Your Role
With a keen interest in the development field, your main objective will be to develop software in accordance with our group strategy. This software development role will incorporate the initial design, development & writing of code alongside suitable & appropriate testing and effective implementation. Whether you have extensive experience in this field or you are a graduate with some experience looking for a development opportunity in a global organisation, we would be interested in hearing from you.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop code and solutions for your allocated projects – these projects are varied and generally small scale writing of bespoke systems for contracts / suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Utilise industry best practice.
- Deliver to project deadlines and milestones.
- Adhere to our documented coding standards and to clean code principles.
- Test all software before launch to eliminate risk of disruption to the business.
- Keep relevant internal documentation up to date.
- Core Java skills – knowledge of Java *+ and Java Script (client and web server and HTML).
- Ideally experience of J2EE server side development, especially Hibernate and Spring.
- Front end web development knowledge especially of java script, angular or vue js a benefit.
- Experience/ knowledge of the full development life cycle and of working in an agile team based development environment.
- Mobile development experience is advantageous.
- Openshift/AWS knowledge is advantageous.
- Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to find innovative and effective solutions.
- Good communication skills, able to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
