We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who will help us advance our app, systems, and applications, for our new air purification product.

On a daily basis, you’ll carry out various software engineering tasks, such as coding, performing tests to ensure our systems meet the global standards and managing and collaborating with technicians and computer programmers to solve emerging issues. You’ll also research on processes and analyse data and trends to create new products.

Ultimately, you will improve our company’s products and processes and contribute to its growth.

The placement is currently for a 9-month period starting in October 2022. Depending upon the outcomes of the project, there is a potential to expand the position into a full-time role.

The position is part of a team to work on project activities relating to an Innovate UK-funded research programme, and we have received funding to develop our products.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the role is a hands-on development engineering position, working in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

Brief

An experienced Software Development Engineer to manage the development of the software elements of the project to deliver purified air into indoor spaces. This role includes the management of the work packages listed below.

Profile of the Software Development Lead Engineer:

  • Qualified software engineer.
  • Experience in connectivity – Sigfox, Bluetooth, Zigbee, 3G, 4G, local networks.
  • Experience in online security and secure networks.
  • Experience in multiple platforms: IoS, App Store, Google Play, Android.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Experience in setting up and managing testing and monitoring regimes.
  • QA-focussed and reporting skills.
  • Strong project management, planning and communication skills.
  • Team management and responsibility for the ad hoc resources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar field.
  • Proven work experience as a software test engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of program testing software.
  • Advanced knowledge of debugging codes and software development languages.
  • Experience working with popular operating systems including Windows and Linux.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collate data and compile test reports.
  • Excellent software troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to design and write complex software testing procedures.
  • Manage and collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes
  • Summarise data and report on test results.
