The teams are aligned to NHS GP Networks and Local Area Partnerships and are committed to integrated working with health, private and voluntary sector organisations.

The Best of London in one borough!

Tower Hamlets is one of the UK’s most culturally vibrant and diverse areas, with over 300,000 people living at the heart of London’s East End. Our vision is that local communities will be independent, strong and vibrant. We want you to be part of the future that we are creating, and to help us make a difference.

We offer quality supervision, peer support and a range of opportunities to develop your practice, with a clear framework for career development.

We are proud of our values because they demonstrate how we work and interact with customers, partners and colleagues on a day-to-day basis.

We have five core values, which are central to successfully achieving our vision:

  • Together - We work TOGETHER across boundaries and with partners to achieve the best outcomes for Tower Hamlets
  • Open and honest - We are OPEN and transparent
  • Willing - We are WILLING to challenge, innovate and be accountable
  • Excellence - We empower each other to be EXCELLENT and go the extra mile
  • Respect - We RESPECT all communities, they are the heart of everything we do

As an experienced social worker, you will manage a varied caseload, carrying out assessments focusing on the strengths of the person, their families, carers and local communities to promote independence.

You will be committed to working in a strength based, outcome focused way and to making a difference to the lives of the individuals and families which you work with.

You will probably work on cases that will change your assumptions, change your outlook and even change the way that you practise. Working in this environment will build relationships that stay with you through your social work career.

Candidates must have post qualification experience along with a good knowledge of relevant legislation and local authority responsibilities in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.

We will be using a values based model of recruitment to ensure that all candidates share our vision and values. Should you be shortlisted, you will be asked to participate in an assessment which will include an informal values based interview. This will help us to get to know you better as a person, before inviting you to a panel based interview.
