Role Outline

At Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) we are known for organising one of the world’s most prestigious airshows and delivering events in our purpose-built 20,000 sqm exhibition and conference centre. Whilst we continue to build on every airshow and event, we’re also on a journey to become a 365 a year insight partner for the aerospace and defence industry. Insight is central to FIL’s strategic direction, which is delivered through our award-winning digital channel, FINN.

We are looking to recruit a Social Media & Content Executive to join the marketing team on a permanent, full-time basis to help position Farnborough International Ltd as a thought leader amongst industry and facilitating business insight and connections. Producing and delivering high quality written, digital, and social content that drives increased levels of brand awareness, engagement and conversion onto Farnborough International’s digital channels and subsequent growth.

The Social Media & Content Executive will work as a part of the Marketing and Communications team to assist and implement marketing initiatives across the business. They will provide support for the Marketing & Comms team in delivering campaigns and communications across a number of events and projects including the Farnborough International Airshow.

Role Responsibilities

Primary

  • To plan, develop and manage short and long-term content across FIL’s websites, social media, and publications
  • To uphold an exceptional standard of written communication for a range of purposes, including social media posts, official announcements, website content, email communications and interviews
  • To support social media community engagement and management across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other channels
  • To liaise with Farnborough International’s PR team to support and amplify press releases and media activity
  • To coordinate and deliver live event content and live engagement with a diverse range of audiences (i.e. visitors, exhibitors, partners, speakers, etc.)
  • To manage the relationships with photography suppliers by providing short briefs ahead of events, ensuring commissioned work is delivered on time and to expected quality and budget, and maintain the business’s photographic archive
  • To track and analyse social media, website, CRM metrics producing regular impact reports. To integrate and activate the community, Farnborough Airshow, Venue, and Sponsor/Partner-associated content and messaging on FIL channels
  • To actively participate in generating and delivering new ideas to drive engagement through digital channels and campaign activations
  • To develop a consistent and engaging tone of voice for the FIL brand, writing and proofreading creative copy for diverse marketing distributions (incl. leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters, brochures)
  • To have creative and strategic input to support follower growth and boost engagement across social channels
  • To assist operationally with any media events or external media engagements. To carry out any other tasks as directed by your line manager
  • To respond to all enquiries within FIL guidelines. To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to FIL and its operation

Skills & Competencies

  • B2B marketing experience
  • Social media management experience preferred
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Strong organisational skills and effective time management
  • Marketing experience within an office environment preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A results driven, can-do attitude
  • Microsoft Excel skills desirable
  • Adobe Creative Cloud skills desirable
  • Marketing automation experience (e.g., Active Campaign) is an advantage
