Social Events Coordinator

We have an excellent opportunity for a part-time Social Events Coordinator to join one of the largest and oldest Friendly Societies in the UK in Market Deeping, and covering a wider area including Bourne, Oundle, Peterborough and Spalding.

Please note: this role can be either home or office-based (or a mixture of the two), with extensive travel across the area for which expenses are paid. You will need a full driving licence and access to your own transport to be suitable for this role.

Our clients’ aim is to improve the quality of life for their members through active social involvement, care support and a range of financial benefits and services to members across Market Deeping and the surrounding area.

The Role
As Social Events Coordinator, you will help and support in delivering the social element of the Society to its target market (predominantly 50+), ensuring that social activity is accessible to both existing and prospective members.

You will focus on developing our client’s social proposition, helping them make new members, and your responsibilities will include:

• Developing social activities to increase membership
• Promoting events in the local area
• Developing active involvement of members
• Building relationships with the local community
• Working with and support social volunteers

About You
To be successful for the role of Social Events Coordinator, you must have or be:

• A people person with excellent communication skills
• Able to speak confidently in front of groups of people
• Patient and diplomatic
• Able to negotiate and persuade
• Excellent planning and organisation skills
• A flexible approach to working hours
• A self-motivated individual who can work to deadlines
• A full driving licence and access to own transport

Salary & Hours
As Social Events Coordinator, you will receive a salary of up to £10.50 per hour dependent on experience, plus expenses.

You will be expected to work on your own initiative for initially 15 hours per week (averaged across month) and this will be reviewed at regular intervals.
