An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the One Front Door team as a Social Care Advisor.

The One Front door service is the single point of contact for all of Warrington residents needing to access Warrington’s Intermediate Tier services. Working together, our Health and Social care services have created a “One system, One Population, One Purpose” to improve the outcomes for our Warrington Residents.

Successful candidates working in this service will have meaningful conversations with our callers, both professionals and members of the public, using advanced contact handling skills to question, listen and understand root cause for their call and support them to access the right support, from the right team, at the right time.

The team is the first point of contact for all new referrals coming into Adult Social Care, the reporting of Safeguarding Adult Concerns and the Local Authority’s duty for the provision of the AMHP service to coordinate assessments under the Mental Health Act (1983 as amended 2007).

Residents of Warrington can access adult social care services via telephone, email and internet. The employees, who record and screen all these contacts, are the Social Care Advisors, working within the One Front Door Team and are the first point of contact for the general public.

The Social Care Advisors have a key role in appropriately managing the demand into Adult Social Care, promoting Information, Advice and Guidance, and ensuring all contacts and assessments fully utilise the Strengths Based Approach model to Adult Social Care and to engage in ‘good conversations’with Warrington people.

As a Social Care Advisors you will need to be self-motivated and able to work under pressure, your duties will include dealing with enquiries from members of the public, voluntary and statutory organisations. By applying a Strength Based Approach, you will ensure that all referrals are appropriately dealt with efficiently and promptly.

All Social Care Advisors work closely with other professional, voluntary and non-statutory agencies offering information, advice and guidance, including sign posting to alternative community based provision, for those referrals that are not eligible for adult social care as defined by Care Act 2014.

Applicants must have excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment to customer care.
