Position: Full time/Permanent

About us:

We are a firm of Solicitors established in 2014. Our office is in Orpington. Within our Civil Litigation Team we deal with debt recovery, personal injury, Clinical Negligence and contract disputes.

The Role:

A new position has arisen within our debt recovery department, within the expanding small claims litigation team which works closely with a with a large motor insurer.

The role is a great opportunity for a college leaver or a claims handler looking to progress their career and to learn about the court process.

You will be responsible for running your own portfolio of cases whilst working with the support of an experienced team

The claims are received from a motor insurer client. The role is to recover money paid out by them from the party responsible, through the process of litigation.

The role involves:

· Run a caseload of small claims RTA cases

- Work a task list effectively

- Run cases from pre-litigation, obtainiing relevant evidence to support liability and quantum

- Reply to all correspondence and emails within SLA

- Liaise with clients regularly to obtain instructions, advise and update them

· Reply to all correspondence and emails within SLA

· Drafting and issuing proceedings

· Preparing evidence for hearing including witness statements

- Comply with all court directions within deadlines

· Instruct Barristers/Counsel to attend hearings

- Allocate settlement funds

- Adhoc duties of a reasonable nature

The ideal candidate will have the ability to

· Communicate well by telephone and in writing

· Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, brokers, the Court, Solicitors and barristers

· Use a case management system

· Adhere to strict timetables

· Provide a great customer service to the client

· Work under pressure

· Organise and manage a task list

Experience of insurance claims would be beneficial

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £18,000.00-£19,000.00 per year
