This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

Summary

Responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of the production processes across site whilst on shift

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to
Attending local APU safety committee meetings
Working with local APU and Plant Environmental, Health & Safety to deliver improvements
Carrying out health and safety audits
Completion of Quality basic checks, and ensuring any non-conformities are investigated in a timely manner
Working on the production line when short staffed
Ensuring all production lines are running at the correct speeds, aligned to the correct procedures using the correct methods, providing results based on Quality and Production output
Full responsibility for the immediate repair of any breakdown, calling for assistance from maintenance personnel where appropriate, and full ownership of escalations (until closure), where required, using the MDI and accountability tag process
Effectively managing E-Maint and TPM tags. Leading and planning the TPM and Tag events.
Adherence to Process Technician Standard Work
Assisting with product change overs, ensuring they are completed efficiently and effectively by the team. Ensuring first off checks and process conditions are correct and SMED is applied where applicable.
Ensuring that any process changes are consulted and agreed upon with Process Engineering and QA
Leading the APU team in continuous improvement activities. Using root cause analysis tools for problem solving (Pareto analysis, 5y and fishbone diagrams etc)
Working with EOS and the APU team to drive 5s improvements
Contributing to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures
Supporting training of operators in production processes
Issuing of work permits to EnerSys Personnel & Contractors where required

Qualifications

HNC or equivalent in either Mechanical/Electrical or both
Green belt in fault finding

Knowledge and Experience

Experience in machine setting/fault finding
Standard FANUC robotic training
Expert knowledge in line / machine and product processes/engineering
Lean tools & methodologies – SMED/5S/5Y/RCA
Experience of production systems (i.e. SAP). In addition, Microsoft Word & Excel
Excellent problem solving & diagnostic skills
