A vacancy has arisen for a Site Manager based at our Barnsley facility. The purpose of the Site Manager is to be accountable for the day-to-day running of the Barnsley facility. Key accountabilities of the Site Manager include:SafetyTo lead safety and set the culture onsiteEffectively run all components of the Company safety systemsCore Values and EthicsLead a strong focus on compliance, and upholding company core values and golden rulesComply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and CommunityProcessingLiaising with head of processing, set production goals in line with Regional an Budget requirements, and communicate them to key personnelCoordinate with Production Manager to set production schedules, including current and future month forecast productionPlan and oversee Production Manager and process, including the recording and reporting of all production data.With the Engineering Manager, oversee preventive maintenance plan using Uptime reporting as KPI metricResponsible, with the Engineering Manager for maintenance of the manufacturing area, production equipment, tools and critical sparesManage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtimeAdminister records of machine availability and production utilisationMaximise OEE across the site.Lead a continuous improvement culture in all departments -to include good housekeeping and promoting a 5s cultureImplement robust JIT stock controls, maintaining lowest possible stocks on sitePeopleFull management of 25-30 employees, inclusive of both day and night shift.Develop, coordinate and implement plans to staff with both direct and indirect labour based upon production schedules/shift patterns to maintain and improve and manufacturing efficiencyResponsible for the management of contractorsCable ProcurementResponsible for ensuring all intake material quality is to specification and that the production process is not impacted by any non-conforming items.Work with Head of Processing and Cables commercial teams to maximise supplier relationshipsQualityEnsure management of product quality through control programmes and sampling both of value streams and waste productsEnvironment and CommunityLook to establish and maintain good relations with close neighbours, local community and the EA; primarily with regards to dust/noise/traffic managementPerform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably requireComply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community Applicants must have exceptional organisational skills with the ability to identify and investigate original and unique solutions to problems, new initiatives and true business development. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills are required with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills. The ability to motivate and create a positive and productive team environment is key, as well as micro managing, mentoring and developing where needed. It is important that applicants have Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and experience in planning & production scheduling. Advanced Microsoft excel skills are essential as well as experience with JIT stock controls
