Location: UK Research & Innovation, Harwell
Hours Per Week:Monday - Friday 37.5 hours
Job Typ e: Full Time/ Permanent

The Site Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overviewing site management across the UKRI RAL site
  • Offering support and guidance to Site Supervisors
  • Working closely with the Project Manager to support delivery
  • Attending planning, pre-start, progress, briefing and completion meetings
  • Managing all aspects of the site set-up, including site rules and induction, traffic management, lighting, signage, protection, storage, waste management, welfare and administration
  • Assisting to complete necessary documentation, such as the Construction Phase Plan, Traffic Management Plan and Programme
  • Planning the work and efficiently organising site operations in order to meet the agreed programme, with continuous programme monitoring
  • Update contractor project reports/programmes in advance of meetings
  • Deliver and schedule works with subcontractors
  • Manage H&S on site, including inductions of GRAHAM staff, STFC staff and subcontractors
  • Record site events and conditions
  • Liaise with the end users to make sure they are kept up to date with progress and requirements
  • Supervising the site labour and the works of subcontractors
  • Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
  • Ensure all works are completed to high quality
  • Ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
  • Manage works on site including staff and subcontractor management
  • Manage works to deliver to programme
  • Self-snag works prior to completion of works
  • Report any concerns directly to the Project Manager
  • Complete H&S manuals on completion of projects
  • Ensuring necessary PPE is worn at all times by anyone attending site
  • Assisting in the scheduling of materials for ordering from the procurement department.
  • Attend Toolbox Talks and participate in site audits
  • Actively observing the wider site, identifying any potential additional works required, notifying the Senior Contracts Manager and add as an observation on CORA
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, being a key point of contact between the Client, Stakeholders, and the GFM team
  • Ensure all Company Procedures are being complied with
  • Ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are followed
  • Ensure adherence to site specific protocol and procedures
  • Actively look to introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate
  • Positively promote the company wherever and whenever possible

Essential Criteria

  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS Card
  • Full driving licence
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Demonstrate effective communication and management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
Desired Criteria
  • COSHH Awareness
  • ISOH Managing Safely
  • Excellent IT skills
