Acorns Children’s Hospice are looking for a Site Maintenance Person to maintain service and facilities at our Black Country Hospice in Walsall.
About the Role
As Site Maintenance Person, you will be responsible for routine maintenance of the hospice and grounds in line with the planned maintenance schedule. This will include equipment, plant decoration, fittings and all interior and exterior areas. You’ll look after emergency systems in compliance with health and safety policies, fire regulations and CQC requirements.
You’ll plan and undertake minor repairs and work projects, letting your manager know of any work that requires the skills of a specialist contractor. We have a hydrotherapy pool on site, so you’ll monitor chemical treatments and ensure that’s safe to use.
About You
You’ll have previous experience of working within a general maintenance role and of completing risk assessments. You’ll have good all-round knowledge of building plan maintenance and the ability to undertake basic maintenance tasks such as kitchen installation, shelving units etc.
You’ll be organised with good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to complete documentations and logbooks.
You’ll be willing to work some unsocial hours and be on call if needed. You’ll have the ability to travel independently throughout the organisation as you may be asked to cover other sites if needed.
