A rare opportunity to work for an innovative organisation in the heart of Cheshire, within a small, high-performing Engineering and Maintenance team. The Stublach Site is the largest onshore natural gas storage asset in the UK, with the company having expansion ambitions in new business areas.

Storengy UK are seeking an experienced Control and Instrumentation Engineer, with a strong operational background within the major accident hazard environment; oil, gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals etc.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Provide C&I expertise to the site. In conjunction with the O&M Team, lead on defining the maintenance requirement of C&I equipment on site, considering cost criticality and safety to ensure operational compliance and efficiencies are maintained.
  • Act as single point of contact for site modification (MoC) involving Control & Instrumentation and be Technical Safety Assessment leader when required.
  • Site lead for functional safety.
  • Prepare engineering requirements for C&I continuous improvement and obsolescence projects, challenge contractor generated proposals (SIL levels, instrumentation philosophy).
  • Drive improvements in Process Safety across the site. Lead investigations into gas storage asset incidents /accidents in accordance with the Storengy UK procedure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in and engineering subject, ideally control and instrumentation.
  • Experience of ABB 800XA DCS preferred but not essential.
  • NEBOSH Certificate would be an advantage
  • Strong technical maintenance/operations background.
  • Functional safety training, such as TUV would be an advantage
  • Recognised process safety training would be an advantage
  • 5 years operational site experience, ideally with a major accident hazard business; oil, gas, chemicals, power etc.
