Costain are recruiting Site Agents with experience in water and/or infrastructure to support the delivery of projects within our Core and non-Core planned projects on our framework with Anglian Water’s Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA)

About The Project

Anglian Water has created a new delivery enterprise - the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. “SPA” is creating hundreds of kilometers of new, interconnecting pipelines to help combat the impact of climate change and keep fresh, clean water flowing across the Anglian Water region. The new network is one of the largest infrastructure projects for a generation and is a complex and challenging major infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities

Organise and manage the systems of work for your allocated discipline including management of the relevant supply chain

Be fully conversant with supply chain contract conditions and responsibilities, manage their works and account measurement with the commercial team

Ensure key project and programme risks are identified early, and mitigated where possible, with issues and blockers escalated immediately to the PM.

Complete inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation are produced in a timely manner

Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client / designer project team

Manage supervise and mentor site and assistant engineers to ensure high levels of engineering control and appropriate records.

Regularly review performance, training and development needs of your direct reports

About You

Civil Engineering related qualification

Site Management Safety Training Scheme SMSTS

Relevant CSCS Card

CPCS Lifting Appointed Person

Temporary Works Coordinator qualification/experience

Other relevant training (preferred includes Appointed Person, relevant lifting training and temporary works co-ordination)

Understanding of Engineering Principles and extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices

Knowledge of construction contract law and forms of contract through formal training

Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system, Primavera software)
