The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for a Shift Manager to join our clients growing team based in the Llanelli area.Contract: PermanentSalary:Up to £41,500p.aHours of work: Full time 37 hours p.w / Variable ShiftsQualifications
  • Institute of Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent
Key Requirements
  • Safety First Mind-set - Understands the importance of safety first within the working environment and ensures the adherence is maintained
  • Prior experience in production supervision at same or lower level but with a demonstrable aptitude to manage multiple production lines or teams
  • Able to define and prioritise departmental needs (emergency through to strategic) and form plans to resolve and follow with rigour and discipline.
  • A good interdepartmental communicator that can solve issues at this level, systematically & objectively.
  • A passion and ability to develop their teams to maximise performance and engagement.
Knowledge / Experience
  • Prior experience in production supervision at same or lower level but with a demonstrable aptitude to manage multiple production teams
  • Have the ability to lead, coach, mentor and motivate a team of people to develop their growth. To demonstrate an understanding of what behaviours are required to get the most out of people
  • Have some understanding of basic employment law. Company HR policies & procedures, including some handling of discipline and grievance related matters along with interview and selection skills and experience
  • Sound understanding of lean techniques in working environment
  • Experience in managing continuous improvement activities.
Key Tasks / Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of the production teams at all times through training, monitoring and resolution of follow-up actions
  • Ensure competence and flexibility / versatility is being developed across all production teams
  • Ensuring production targets are in line with planning and customer requirements
  • Intervene to enable removal of roadblocks to production teams to ensure target adherence
  • Participate in the layered audit process to identify gaps to std and manage resolution of issues
  • Create, agree and deploy development plans for teams assisted by HR & Training dept
  • Ensure completion of Level 1 & 2 TPM checks by production teams
  • Coordination of continuous improvement/ problem solving activities across all teams
  • Ensure 5S system for production areas is defined and maintained
  • Ensure completion of first off part conformance checks and completion of administrative tasks associated with all visual management systems
  • Analyse data from production groups to see common issues for resolution and initiate appropriate action plans
  • Manage a group of Zone Leaders and their Production Teams to deliver world class levels of SQDI
  • Conduct regular reviews with individual production teams that cover KPI target adherence and improvement, general plant communication and delegation of general duties as appropriate
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals for all members of the production teams with supporting data provided by the Zone Leaders
  • Conduct Return to Work interviews with team members.
