Shift Electrician (Days)
Location: Nottingham Business:Our client has a market-leading presence in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Group’s companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The company has a UK annual turnover approaching £280 million and employs around 1,000 people at 23 sites across the country. The Position As a Shift electrician, you will be working within a 24 hour operational site, running 365 days per year. The role is a full-time permanent role, working 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts. There will be a requirement for you to give on-call support, which will be discussed at the interview. You will be expected to cover shifts for holidays and sickness and work overtime as and when required. As a Shift Electrician your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include: Working under Health & Safety guidelines To be initially responsible to Engineering Team Leader To liaise with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes. To understand all factory operations, including steam raising plant / Odour control and effluent treatment plant. Monitor all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation. Carry out breakdown repairs, as able, to factory equipment in a timely manner. Provide assistance to other shift members, as necessary, when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management. Site Electrical installations and upgrade work, as designated by the Electrical Team Leader. To carry out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules. To be on call for a proportion of the time. The Person You must have served a recognised City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship. Have extensive electrical experience working in a continuous process environment. Have experience of handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns. Have proven experience with fault finding. Be able to troubleshoot and solve process problems. Be familiar with general factory maintenance practices. Be conversant with basic PLC logic and inverter drives. Basic mechanical skills. Experience of plant operations. You must be able to work using your own initiative. Self-motivated and able to work on your own or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and ability to converse at all levels
