About The RoleThe Settlements Analyst is part of an outstanding team coordinating the delivery of a range of payment and billing processes. This role involves regular interaction with external customers and stakeholders; understanding queries and taking the initiative to drive for timely and consistent resolution. This role will suit an analytical and customer-focused individual with a capability to interrogate and deliver improvements on existing processes.Key Accountabilities- Running day-to-day settlement-related tasks, working closely with teams such as IT and Finance.
- Coordinating the offshore team’s delivery of financial settlement processes.
- Manage productive relationships with our customers and provide targeted support to them.
- Manage the offshore team’s performance against key KPIs and provide expertise on all settlement processes.
- Review the Ancillary Services settlement processes as a whole and drive transformational changes, to benefit our customers and reduce workload.
- Manage resolution of complex settlement queries.
- Provide financial transaction knowledge to ensure our settlement process is in line with financial policies and drive end to end efficiencies.
- Submission of internal and external data reports.
- Provide integration, analysis and reporting of data from settlements databases and spreadsheets.
- An understanding of Electricity Transmission System and National Grid’s role as System Operator (preferable but not essential).
- Competent in numerical analysis (interrogation and analysis of data).
- Practical experience of database queries, scripts or SQL (preferable).
- Experience of dealing with both internal and external stakeholders, including industry participants and customers.
- Customer focused skills, willing to take ownership of customer issues to resolution.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on rigorous data accuracy.
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple issues and prioritise workload.
