About the role
Humankind’s Northwest Region is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Manager to join our team and oversee the successful Salford Intensive Keyworker Service and Housing First delivery. Humankind offers a range of support services, advice, and guidance to help individuals and families progress towards safe and healthy living. We support vulnerable people, often with histories including substance misuse, offending, mental ill health, and homelessness, to overcome barriers and achieve social inclusion.

The family keyworker service operates across the City of Salford and supports families with complex needs, while the Housing First delivery is across Zone D (Wigan, Trafford, and Salford). As a Service Manager you will provide support and guidance to a number of staff and will need to provide a high-quality and effective service. You will be responsible for managing a team of keyworkers and support staff to ensure that service users receive the best possible support to enable them to achieve their goals.

Service Manager responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Salford Intensive Keyworker Service and Housing First delivery
  • Ensure effective delivery of service in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Line manage and supervise staff, providing support and guidance as necessary
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure service delivery is within budget
  • Monitor and report on service performance against targets
  • Ensure service users receive a high-quality service that is person-centered, empowering, and effective

Service Manager requirements:
  • Experience of managing staff and services within a similar setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex needs, including substance misuse, offending, mental ill health, and homelessness
  • Experience of working in partnership with other agencies and stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
  • Experience of working within a performance management framework
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
The role is a full-time position, 37 hours per week, and is based across the City of Salford. The successful candidate will need to be a car user. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
