Northern Health Care provides mental health recovery services across many regions within the UK. Our services consist of Support Living and community outreach services which provides our residents and service users with access to 24 hr support from experienced clinical and support staff.

What We Are Looking For

We are currently looking to recruit a Service Manager who has strong leadership skills to join our team who are committed and have the values, passion, and determination in putting people first, whilst supporting lives of people with a learning disability or mental health illness.

As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading one of Northern Healthcare’s Enhance Supported Living Services, whilst providing effective leadership to the service and act as a role model to your team.

Your main focus will be to ensure the effective delivery of the service whilst working with a multi-disciplinary team ensuring the highest safety, and support care is provided to our service users whilst promoting a positive culture.

As part of this role you will be responsible for providing supervision and leadership to your team, whilst demonstrating best practices and guidance. Ultimately you will meet our quality targets set out by the senior team, which will ensure your service is providing the best quality of care and support to our service users.

As a Service Manager not every day is the same, and It can be quite challenging at times, but the rewards are truly amazing to see our residents improving with the support we provide!

Where you’ll be working

The role is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week at our new service in Carlisle.This role requires a level of flexibility as you will have the option to join the out of hours on call rota, which can include evenings and weekends.

Your Responsibilities As a Service Manager
  • Ensuring that our service users are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Working positively and collaboratively with other colleagues within the team
  • Work within and implement our policy and procedure, including confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Have a sound understanding and experience of CQC requirements and clinical governance
  • Develop and maintain good working relationship with key stakeholders
  • Commitment to the delivery of high quality of care
  • Has a demonstrable belief in a values-led approach whilst working with Service users
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the complex and needs faced by Service User
  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ensure a ‘person centred’ approach is at the forefront in everything we do.
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude with a hands approach with dedication and commitment
  • Responsible for working towards and meeting the service targets and objectives

What qualifications or experience are needed for this role?
  • Ideally, you will have a clinical background as Occupational Therapist or Registered Mental Health Nurse with experience in a Supported Living environment
  • We also welcome applicants who are proven leaders who have achieved or are working towards their Health and Social Care Level
  • Previous leadership experience would be essential for this role
