Quarry Manufacturing & Supplies has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Service Engineer, who is able to provide expert assistance in keeping our machinery in full operating order to join our thriving team based in Coalville.

Service EngineerPosition Details:

  • Salary: £14-£17 per hour, dependant on experience
  • Job Type: Full time, Permanent
  • Location: Travelling from our Coalville site daily this role will predominately be based at our customers quarries around the UK, there will be occasional travel further afield where stop overs may be necessary.

This is a customer facing role, you will be providing technical support and expertise in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved and their confidence in us as a company continues to grow.

You will be involved in the installation, inspection, repair, maintenance and commissioning of aggregate processing plant (crushers, screens, conveyors, full plant installation) You will also be required to work at our head office where you will work your magic on crushers and crusher components which have been brought in for repair and maintenance.

Service EngineerResponsibilities:

  • Servicing, repairing, and maintaining aggregate processing construction plant and equipment installation
  • Assembling crushing plant (crushers, screens, conveyors, oil tanks, MVU)
  • Striping & building crushers and/or crushing plant
  • Interpreting and understanding engineering drawings
  • Test running and verifying products to meet quality standards
  • Identifying any faults, diagnosing and resolving these faults
  • Ensuring components meet company quality standards
  • Preparing parts for shipment
  • Completing relevant paperwork including service reports, inspections and RAMS
  • Keeping the work area safe, organised, clean and tidy

Service EngineerSkill & Experience Requirements:

In this physically demanding role, you will be proficient in the following skills: breakdown maintenance, fault finding, strip & build of crushers and/or crushing plant, hydraulics, welding / burning / gas cutting.

Our perfect candidate will also have:

  • Experience working as a workshop fitter, mobile plant fitter, mobile engineer, plant fitter, plant engineer, workshop technician, plant technician, vehicle mechanic, vehicle technician, mobile crushing and screening equipment etc.
  • Knowledge of the quarrying industry
  • High attention to detail with the ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Experienced in fault diagnosis and trouble shooting
  • Structured and analytical approach to problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge and experience of using hand tools
  • Competent in the use of overhead crane, forklift truck, hi-ab, and hold a Quarry Safety Passport
  • Elevated level of Health and Safety knowledge
  • On site fabrication skills
  • Able to work independently and use own initiative
  • Confident working at heights on busy operating sites
  • Experience in plant installation (desirable)
