Summary of Role:

To undertake installation, commissioning, calibration, trial & repair/service tasks, primarily on customer sites, under the supervision of the Manager Tech Office. The principal focus of this role will be in supporting the growth of the Joining Systems, Plastics and Advanced Manufacturing service business.

Your Tasks:

  • Organise and carry out installation and commissioning of systems on customer sites
  • Organise and undertake the calibration of pressure, charge & force devices on customer sites
  • Carry out customer trials and demonstrations in conjunction with the responsible Outside Sales representative
  • Undertake fault diagnosis and repair of measuring systems and instruments
  • Create service reports, application documentation and certificates
  • Technical support; including remote diagnostics and suggestions for troubleshooting
  • Support Sales in providing application advice to customers
  • Deliver technical training to customers; including creation of training documents and provision of hardware as required
  • Configuration and provision of loan and exchange devices
  • Provide quotations for installation, commissioning, calibration & repair/service tasks

Your Skills:

  • Experience and understanding of industrial process and control systems, measurement principles, technologies and applications
  • Experience in instrument calibration and repair
  • A proven track record in similar hands-on, customer facing roles
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC, City & Guilds or other relevant qualification
  • At least 3 years experience in a relevant field
  • Evidence of training in quality procedures
  • Willingness to travel approx. 70%

Desirable

  • Previous experience with ISO:17025 & UKAS
  • Previous experience in the injection molding industry
  • Previous experience with servo presses
