Here at Konecranes we have 3 business areas, one of which is Port Solutions, focusing on lifting equipment and automation solutions within a port environment, equipment includes, cranes straddle carriers and lift trucks to name but a few. To continue to support our customer’s needs we are recruiting an Electrically skilled Port Engineer to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment, with all of our customers being coastal, being willing to travel is a key requirement for this role as well as being electrically-biased. This role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not expected.


You will report to the Operations Manager


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solution products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers
  • Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions, primarily in Electrical equipment, Drive technologies and PLC’s in an industrial environment.
  • Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues
  • Accurate and descriptive problem reporting
  • Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate

What we are looking for in you:

  • Electrically skilled with a basic understanding of mechanics and ideally hydraulics
  • Proven track record performing electrical commissioning and repairs to machinery, PLC’s and drives
  • Experience of Siemens S7 essential. Use of FBD preferred.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Be organised and self-motivated person.
  • Computer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics.
  • Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).and LOLER
  • UK driver’s licence
  • Ability to work at height
  • Able to spend periods of time away from home
