This new SEO role will be responsible for helping grow SEO traffic to Time Out’s Media business by providing expert guidance to editorial teams across the business. They will also build an SEO focussed content calendar and provide monthly forward planning recommendations to editors in order to maximise traffic for seasonal events, alongside optimising evergreen pages and providing ad-hoc keyword research and optimisation tips to global teams.

Key Responsibilities


  • Be the go-to person for editors seeking SEO content optimization advice.
  • Provide monthly forward planning recommendations and content optimization opportunities for SEO to each individual editor/team with insight into what content to update or create and when, in order to maximise search traffic around known upcoming events.
  • Provide regular topic research around relevant keywords to inform editors of new content opportunities.
  • Recommend relevant keywords and keyword combinations to Editors to target on upcoming articles.
  • Optimise/update & refresh top SEO landing pages for relevant keywords to maximise SEO traffic as well as building out topic pages.
  • Monitor daily content output for best practice, such as relevant linking and keyword usage, and either editing themselves or feeding back to editors on optimisation opportunities.
  • Be linking top evergreen traffic pages to other more recent articles to encourage circulation and ensure relevant cross linking
  • Ensure articles and pages are correctly tagged and/or complete metadata on topics and articles


Skills & Experience


  • Excellent written English with additional languages a plus.
  • Editorial & digital publishing experience.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of SEO optimisation and topic research.
  • Familiarity with SEO tools and web analytics platforms.
  • Experience with CMS platforms within a publishing/media business.
