Join our team as a Senior UXO Specialist and contribute towards shaping a fossil-free future!Our Geoscience department is continually growing, we are now looking for the right person to join our team as Senior UXO Specialist, reporting to the Manager of Geophysics.You will be joining a diverse, high-performing team of geoscientists and have an active role in the continual development of the team. The role will allow opportunities to explore innovative technology, develop best practices and push boundaries as we help Vattenfall achieve its vision of transitioning society towards a fossil-free future.Your roleAs a Senior UXO Specialist you will be responsible for planning, managing and delivering UXO-focused work packages to our offshore wind farm assets in collaboration with other internal experts and external partners. You will contribute your technical UXO expertise and project delivery skills at all stages of our wind farm lifecycle from feasibility, development and design through to construction, operation and decommissioning.The role is varied and challenging, with the main responsibilities being to:- Scope, procure and manage specialist UXO consultancies for the provision of early phase UXO desk studies.
- Lead, define and support UXO strategy for assets in development, construction and operation.
- Support the development of UXO processes in collaboration with senior team members on a company level as part of standardizing UXO risk management across the portfolio
- Support survey operational team in planning, managing and delivery of UXO geophysical surveys
- Plan, manage and lead ID&C campaign work packages.
- Manage project UXO ALARP certification for planned and future operations
- Manage project stakeholder interfaces for UXO topics
- Represent Vattenfall as a technical authority within the UXO discipline, willing to advise, educate and inform others within and outside the organization
- Evaluate new technology and methods whilst exploring opportunities for collaborative research and development
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Geophysics, Engineering or a related field
- At least five years of relevant experience in the offshore wind or marine renewables sector, working predominantly in a UXO surveying, UXO ID&C or UXO Risk management role
- Current knowledge of geophysical methods and industry standards relevant to UXO surveying
- Experience of managing ID&C campaigns and knowledge of different national legislation regimes in relation to EOD.
- An understanding of project management, commercial and contractual mechanisms, procurement and EU tender law
- Experience of managing external subcontractors and consultants
- Proficiency in geophysical software packages for UXO data analysis (e.g. Oasis Montaj or similar)
- A broad understanding of current HSE standards and best practices.
- Experience of working as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement
- The ability and willingness to travel abroad periodically for short durations when circumstances allow (e.g. to operational sites or other office locations)
