As our Senior UX/UI Designer you will form part of our growing product team with a mission to make our software as user friendly and impactful as possible.

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer with great communication and stakeholder skills, with a proven technical design background to join the team on our mission to enable the roll out of smarter energy.

You will work alongside our teams to improve existing and design new solutions delivering value for our users. Providing technical analysis and requirement review you will work with the team to provide an understanding of the impact of change requirements working closely with product owners to provide recommendations.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Understand as-is interaction design and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Create and iterate prototypes to test and communicate ideas and help the wider team learn about user needs.
  • Liaise with a multidisciplinary team in an agile environment to turn concepts into user-centred designs.
  • Ensure that the design of SAAS services is consistent, internally and with the rest of the wider organisation.
  • Deliver best practices around user-centred design processes, user research and experience design.
  • Understand the bigger picture (high-level flows and processes) as well as the fine detail of individual components.
  • Contribute to the open and collaborative culture across the entire organisation.
  • Analyse and identify cost saving opportunities whilst implementing best practice interaction design.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops to drive actionable outcomes.
  • Manage stakeholder needs across different areas.
  • Experience working within a design system framework.
  • Knowledge of design principles.
  • Prototyping.
  • Experience of interaction development for Apps would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of sketching, prototyping and iterative design.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of using a user-centred design approach.
  • Experience of explaining design decisions and communicating ideas clearly.
  • Creation of critical reports as well as driving and supporting a self-serve user community.

  • Given the collaborative nature of UI/UX this is an office based role with flexibility to work from home a couple of days a week.
  • With the team and client interaction required candidates living within a commutable distance will only be considered.
