Test engineers build automation test solutions that help to assure the quality of products that make up DWPs digital services and contribute towards their design.

You are responsible for testing all areas of the products including but not limited to functional, business requirements, performance, security and accessibility.

You will work alongside other Senior Test Engineers and lead other Test Engineers both within the teams around you and the wider community to deliver consistent solutions and strategies.

You will be willing to challenge current processes and help improve the ways of working, as well as identify tooling that will drive innovation and constant improvement of both testing and products.

As a Senior Test Engineer You Will
  • help define the overall testing strategy, provide technical leadership and guidance to test engineering teams, and have oversight of all testing activities. You will ensure that best practices are in place, and drive improvements by sharing knowledge and resources across teams.
  • Set the strategic direction for product teams and the Test Engineering community.
  • Lead multiple Test Engineering teams, providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Lead delivery of testing activities, ensuring that quality, time and cost objectives are met.
  • Drive standardisation by sharing reusable libraries and services, experience, and lessons learned with other DWP teams.
  • Lead reviews of test practices and provide guidance on improvements and lessons learned.
  • Support the professional development of Test Engineering team members through coaching, mentoring and access to appropriate learning resources.
