Senior Telehealthcare Assessor (13/812)

£35,607 - £38,310

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the social work services Single Access Point (SAP) team, providing ‘front door’ access to Health and Social Care services for residents of Dumfries and Galloway.

Care Call is the Council’s monitoring and administration centre for the region’s Telecare service, which delivers protection and assisted independent living 24 hours a day 7 days per week to all its clients. In addition, the centre provides the Council’s out of hours service, and lone worker monitoring scheme.

You will be expected to manage the operation and maintenance of the region’s technical telehealthcare service, including supporting the technicians and field officers who will install, maintain, and remove Telecare Alarm systems within clients’ homes. You will champion the use of services, provide demonstrations of systems and be part of continuous development and improvement activities locally and nationally.

As someone who enjoys being a positive contributor to the team, you will work flexibly with your colleagues to ensure the client is always the main priority. You will possess a positive attitude, a calm approach and real drive and determination to offer the very best in customer excellence and quality assurance of telecare assessments.

The successful candidate will have highly developed communication, listening and questioning skills along with the ability to explain information clearly, and above all courteously, to a wide variety of people. This includes service users, Health and Social Care colleagues, medical staff, Third Sector, and council officers.

Proven technical insight will support the postholder to lead, develop and manage a skilled team equipped to face the challenges of a vital service, expanding to meet increased demand whilst keeping pace with service wide technical change.

This role requires educational qualification to SCQF Level 7 (e.g SVQ Level 3) or equivalent.

Location of this post can be flexible, however, a willingness to travel is crucial to the role. The service operates Monday to Friday with a stand-by rota in place for evenings and weekends which you are required to be part of, and additional allowances will be paid accordingly.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post as this is a regional team.
