Senior Technical Scheme Underwriter (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

The opportunity:
A fabntastic opportunity has arisen to join Zurich Corporate Risk, one of the fastest growing group risk providers in the market. ZCR was launched 10 years ago and since that time has continued to go from strength to strength. To continue with its growth targets and aspirations ZCR is now looking for scheme underwriters to expand the underwriting team.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute towards ZCR’s growth plans through assessing and underwriting schemes and setting the right rate and terms for the risk.
  • Confirm risk on new schemes and acceptance of retest terms on existing schemes.
  • Keep up to date with scheme underwriting philosophy taking into account experience and market conditions.
  • Provide a stand out service experience for customers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture (role model behaviour).
  • Take responsibility for delivering quality and timely output to our customers through taking ownership of own workload and also supporting colleagues to deliver our team workload.
  • Use best practice to boost effectiveness and efficiency of our processes.

Your skills and experience:
  • 2-3 years experience in underwriting Group Risk schemes.
  • Excellent knowledge of the group risk market and products.
  • Good judgement and decision making skills.
  • Innovative thinking and ability to challenge processes and decisions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think on your feet.
  • Flexibility to cope with varying workloads and pressures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to work in a team/team player.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Ownership of workload and resolution of queries.
