Your new role

As Senior Technical Implementation Specialist you’ll manage a team of Technical Implementation Specialists who install, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot and support EMIS software applications, tools and interfaces working with internal colleagues and customer representatives both remotely and on site as required. This work will often involve data migration and synchronisation working with very sensitive data.

The role involves a degree of autonomous working according to priorities assigned by the Technical Services Manager. This work will be in the context of an Operations department where varying technologies are used and you’ll manage and work within a project team to complete tasks as detailed by the project manager. You will provide best practice and governance direction to the technical team as well as line management to direct reports as agreed with the Technical Services Manager and Head of Delivery.

  • Lead the Team by example with behaviour and mannerisms
  • Assist the rest of the Team with knowledge transfers, and work with them on a regular basis to upskill the team
  • The ability to understand, troubleshoot and write complex SQL scripts to perform data migration/ validation
  • A thorough understanding of web based technologies and server side architecture (eg. IIS, Load Balancing)
  • A wealth of experience in the installation & configuration of SQL Server database based applications
  • A strong understanding of the physical and virtual server setups and how these effect application setup and performance
  • Demonstrable understanding of clinical interfacing with a focus on; Interface communication types (tcp ip, wcf), HL7 and its standards and XML
  • An understanding of Windows networks and the policies, security and architecture that make them up with a particular focus on; IIS, SQL and other enterprise services, Windows Event and failure logging, Resilience and disaster recovery architecture and N3 and spine services
  • Strong personal organizational, documentation, stakeholder management and communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Can demonstrate advanced problem solving techniques which must include SQL Server Profiling, SQL Performance management and use of tools such as WireShark and Process Monitor
  • Able to work confidently and effectively on site and as part of a project team
  • Issue ownership and prioritisation, in line with company procedures
