We are seeking to recruit individuals to join our existing team of Band 6 nurses in the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department is a vital component of the trust this post is aimed at maintaining our strong leadership team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. We strive to deliver high quality care to our patients 24 hours a day.The Senior Team is committed to providing high quality care for all of the patients and developing and leading all nurses in the Emergency Department. We have a structured in house training plan to ensure continued professional development.The role will include weekends twilight shifts and bank holidays. Full local induction and competency-based training is in place.To provide the highest standard of nursing care for patients.To plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care for individual patients and to supervise other staff in this activity.To ensure an ongoing welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for the patient and their carers.To act as an advocate for the patient and family, providing them with information and support and directing them to the relevant support services where appropriate.To start planning discharges from admission, liasing with the multidisciplinary team, other departments and community services as necessary.To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence based nursing care. This includes expanded role responsibilities, following appropriate training.Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target.
