Further Afield are recruiting for a highly skilled Senior Sous Chef to join our flagship new opening ’The Crown’ in Boston Spa. The ideal candidate will have a high level of skill both on the pass and back of house and will have the ability to work alongside the head chef to take things to the next level. We want a real team leader who has a passion for great food, yet also astute and able to control costs in a busy kitchen. We work with some of the best UK famers and local suppliers, so a passion for working with fresh seasonal ingredients is a must. With the group expanding all the time there will be scope to move up the career ladder quickly for the right candidate. A bit about you:
  • An ambitious Sous Chef with at least 1/2 years’ experience in busy restaurants /bars.
  • A hands-on approach to running a professional kitchen.
  • A proven track record of running a professional kitchen including stringent stock control and reconciliation, effectively managing budgeted GPs, tight wage control and obtaining 5-star EHO reviews.
  • Good communication skills and able to work effectively alongside a front of house team both imparting knowledge, yet also eager to learn. In return, we offer:
