About Us

We are seeking a D2C & Online Marketing Solution Architect to join the Information Systems department with Sony Electronics Europe, joining a larger pan-EU business function that both implements and manages Sony’s c20 platforms. You will be the key link between Application Owners, Project Managers, Technical Architects, Delivery and Support functions, and is being called upon by the various managers or Developers/Designers when strategical advice is required.

Specifically, D2C & Online Marketing SA is responsible managing the European Direct Sales and Marketing web platforms’ Applications/Infrastructure/Services from determining strategical direction, setting the technological guidelines, to requirement analysis and determining solution.

You will operate across the organisation and its “silos” to drive common approaches and expose information assets and processes across the enterprise. Their goal is to deliver an IT architecture that will support Sony Europe’s needs, in accordance to Global IT standards.

As guardians and decision makers for the Sony Europe’s Enterprise Architecture, you will propose technical roadmaps for the existing platforms, working with Application Owners, determine which IT solutions should be used to fulfil business needs such as working with an existing application / buying a new application / renting a service. You will Interact with the Global Enterprise Architecture (EA) teams to factor in global strategies to Europe as applicable). You will then remain accountable for the decisions made and may be called upon by Delivery and Support groups in the event that solutions do not seem fully fit for purpose, so as to ensure that those facts are taken into account for other technological decisions.

Background in wide range of areas including Web Application Development, SAP Hybris, Java Technologies, Database Development, Sales Force Marketing Cloud, Service ERP systems, Application performance, Middleware management, AWS, Cloud Security & Data Privacy are all great assets for this role.

You will:

• Review all the large proposed needs from the business and to determine how best the need can be fulfilled technically (new application, developing an existing application, rent a service, etc.) as a “day to day” activity. This can range from advising Application Owner in assessing a simple/quick change, to fully producing the solution architecture for a new project for instance.
• Produce architecture documents for Sony Europe’s Enterprise architecture, working with partners, internal or not to Sony, e.g. Global EA team, vendors, etc. This also includes guiding the Application Owner to put together pro-active approaches to customers to show to them possibilities that they may not be aware.
• Work with Application Owner, MU and Business Users to provide solutions to meet business and IT needs, define system specifications
• Plan and design the structure of a technology solution
• Review the analysis and design the software architecture to meet the business requirements
• Lead RFP Activities with business when a selection of a new system/ technology is needed.
• Be an advisor to Business and teams with regards to Security and Privacy management of the platforms
• Contribute high-level estimation activities of new requests
• Work with Technical Architects to determine system requirements, evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware, and suggest integration methods
• Bring innovation and a strategical mindset to the solutions by following the newest best practices and integrating them proactively
• Present solutions and costing to Key Business Stakeholders, in order to get approvals
• Work with AO, TA to decide on landscape roadmap and activities to achieve platform robustness, up-to-date technology stack and risk avoidance.
  
  

You will have:

• Experienced IT professional
• Overall proven track record within the IT environment having developed a broad and deep knowledge of IT principles, designs and architecture techniques, not limited to one business or technological domain.
• Proven expertise of the Web business domain: e-commerce, e-marketing, customer information management, product management, social media
• Proven expertise in one or several technological domains (e.g JS, CSS, Unit Testing (Specs2, ScalaTest, JUnit, Mockito, etc...), NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, ElasticSearch ...), Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle …), Amazon Web Services, RESTful web services, Agile methodologies, Secure Development Life Cycle )
• Understanding and experience of Enterprise/Solution architecture methodologies (e.g TOGAF), and of System Development Lifecycle (e.g. Prince2, PMBOK, etc.)
• Deep understanding on Security and Privacy needs of Sony, specifically in Europe (eg GDPR, Secure Cloud Implementations)
• Experience in working with various stakeholders, internal or external, to research, document and select solutions (this could include technological watch, RFP process, etc.)
• Good understanding of budget processes, understanding the financial concepts (eg. CAPEX, OPEX, amortization and re-charge processes)
• Ability to share and communicate ideas, both orally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language
• Solid examples of stakeholder relationships
