Ooni makes kick-ass pizza ovens for the backyard - think world class pizzas cooked in just 60 seconds!

As well as ovens, we’re building software products to get incredible pizza to even more people. Our software engineering team is working on exciting new platforms and functionality across web and mobile. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can develop world class software products, mentor our software engineering team, and champion best practices.

A Little About the Job (Responsibilities):

• Full Stack - You enjoy solving technical problems with your front and backend skills and finding creative solutions to the challenges we face.
• Product - You’ll give technical and product input to help make sure we deliver value with each sprint. You focus on the why as well as how.
• Mentoring - You’ll work with the wider team to build skills, share your experience, and give them confidence to manage their growth.
• Delivery - As part of the engineering team you’ll still be hands on, shipping new features and enhancements for our customers, and improvements to make things work better behind the scenes.
• Quality - Writing elegant, maintainable code using modern industry best practices and taking a rigorous approach to testing. You’ll review code and have your code reviewed.
• Technical Strategy - You’ll work closely with the engineering team to ensure the technical roadmap will satisfy our long-term vision and can be delivered efficiently. Further you’ll support the team to see that architectural decisions are well considered and appropriately timed.
• System Improvement - You’ll have the opportunity to work across our stack, explore and evaluate new platforms and technology.
• UX - From cross platform customer journeys to usability improvements. You’ll work with the product design team to create a world class product experience.

Requirements:

• Architecture - A good understanding of design fundamentals and experience of full stack platform development.
• Significant track record of professional software development experience.
• Experience in line managing software engineers.
• Experience with modern JavaScript and working knowledge of at least one UI framework, ideally React JS.
• Experience building on GraphQL or REST APIs, ideally for Shopify or other ecommerce platforms
• Comfort with HTML, SCSS and templating languages, preferably with experience of Liquid.
• Technical leadership - You’re passionate about technical decisions and keep up to date with new developments and techniques - If you think something can be done better then you push for it. You also encourage others when they try to innovate.
• Experienced in backend systems, with exposure to at least one cloud infrastructure platform, serverless computing and both relational and NoSQL databases.
• A user focused mindset. You’re motivated to deliver benefits to customers and you consider value to customers and the business when managing your time.
