About The Role

We are looking for a RD&A Principal Scientist to join our RD&A team in Hyde.

This is a great opportunity as you will develop, manage and implement key innovation projects in line with the business strategy. Also be the key interface with the external world, R&D and Innovation teams to deliver key projects in the Innovation funnel.

You will also be required to develop and lead innovative solutions, inspiring through food, industry and consumer knowledge.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead generation of process prototypes to illustrate technical possibilities and process of projects for the purpose of clarifying BU interest and development direction
  • Actively seek and develop new technology solutions for the problems encountered on current assignments
  • Demonstrate effective use of available planning tools and processes to schedule work activities and goals with limited supervision
  • Understand and demonstrate application of engineering work, processes, sensory, analytical etc.. tools to deliver superior process specifications in line with optimum product design
  • Support process development initiatives for new platforms by leading specific product development work streams
  • Work with suppliers on defined projects to drive deep process understanding
  • Support R&D & NPI teams on specific projects.
  • Prepare raw material, process and equipment specifications with procurement and other client groups
  • Support or lead Customer presentations when required.


Qualifications And Skills
  • Experience in R&D of food manufacturing essential
  • Knowledge of meat and meat free products is essential
  • Solid project management skills (ie: tracking of milestones & timelines)
  • Highly organized multi-tasker
  • Methodical, with attention to detail
  • Computer literate in Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Displays tenacity. Goes that extra mile to achieve results and deliver excellent service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic & motivational team leader
