Location: Aberdeen Scientific Services Laboratory
Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Aberdeen Scientific Services Laboratory is looking for, in addition to the requirements of the job profile, someone with extensive experience of working in either a chemistry or microbiology laboratory with demonstrable skills in the areas of troubleshooting, method development and validation, as well as training and supervision
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to analyse samples, and to perform Quality Audits on the Laboratory’s quality management system
Requirements
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
HNC in Chemistry, Biological Sciences or equivalent
Full current UK driving licence
Responsibilities
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
An extensive knowledge of analytical chemistry and/or microbiology
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other scientists
An understanding of computer systems and hardware/software applications
Ability to work under pressure to designated timescales
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task
Ability to assist in effective training of staff
Ability to ensure that operational procedures are adhered
