THE ROLE

You will represent the first line of defence for Guarantee and Wholesale (GWS), leading on identifying, managing, and reporting the non-financial risks within the team. You will coordinate the management of credit risk for each GWS product and develop and monitor various risk controls within the RCSA framework, working closely with first line support functions such as the Financial Crime Team as well as with the Bank’s Risk & Compliance and Internal Audit teams. Co-ordination of all risk management activities across GWS is required and you will act as a central point of contact for other British Business Bank departments with regards to GWS risk and control activities.

Your responsibilities will include creating and driving the GWS risk framework, aligning to the BBB Risk Management Framework, coordinating the identification, measurement and mitigation and reporting of material risks and drive the RCSA process with and on behalf of GWS, and track and monitor material risks and escalate to the GWS leadership team and/or MD when risks move towards the boundaries of BBB risk appetite.

Essentially, you will have significant demonstrable Risk Management & Control experience [Operational / Financial / Financial Crime], experience in implementing risk frameworks/programmes, identification, and assessment of operational and other risks in a financial services context, and project management skills.

You will have experience of managing key external and internal relationships, experience in banking or the financial services sector, and have competency in Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
