Senior Residential Support Worker / Team LeaderEBD Children’s homeRugeleySalary 28000 PAOverviewCare2Recruit are currently seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established provider of residential care to children and young people. They have been successful in supporting, guiding, and caring for some of our communities’ most vulnerable young people.The residential care is based on the principles of support, guidance, professional intervention and education; giving their looked after children the opportunity to deal with their difficulties, and leave your care as a more positive, confident and empowered individual.The successful candidate will need to provide the highest quality of care and support as part of the care team to Service Users in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body. There may be an element of personal care required.SENIORAs a Senior Support Worker, you will work at their specialist residential service, where you will have responsibility for supervising a team of support workers on a day-to-day basis and coordinating the shift. Leading by example, you will be involved with supporting our adults with daily routines including accessing the community, personal care and domestic duties to promote independent life skills whilst managing some challenging behaviour.Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties as a Team Leader would include:
  • Leading and supervising the staff on shift to ensure that all duties are carried out
  • Undertaking agreed, delegated management responsibilities on an ongoing basis
  • Working alongside relatives, internal staff and advocates to ensure consistent care
  • Encouraging participation in activities and daily tasks
  • Reporting and recording key aspects of care
Key Skills Required
  • Relevant experience of working with young people / young adults with autistic spectrum disorders and/or challenging behaviour
  • Have experience of leading and motivating teams.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Experience of being the most senior person on duty and leading the team in an appropriate manner
  • Candidates must have their NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
