Senior Research Manager – Asia
This is a vital role within Compassion’s Asia Programme, helping to ensure farm animal welfare is adopted within the sustainable supply chain and corporate policies of the world’s leading food businesses as well as national companies. The role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact for farm animal welfare within a dynamic team and influential global organisation.

Senior Research Manager Requirements

The right candidate will be commercially astute and bring gravitas and credibility with your technical knowledge and practical experience of farm animal welfare within a global context. You will develop a solid understanding of the Asia food industry whilst maintaining a sympathetic understanding of the wider organisational aims. The role will require developing and delivering multiple workflows to deadline and within budget, and a strong problem solving ‘can do’ attitude.

About CiWFI - Compassion In World Farming International

Compassion in World Farming International is the leading international farm animal welfare charity, campaigning to improve the lives of millions of farm animals through advocacy, lobbying for legislative change, and positive engagement with the global food industry. Our established international Food Business programme aims to raise baseline standards for farm animals by securing commitments, ensuring compliance and facilitating implementation of higher welfare policies and practices.
In addition, we aim to drive corporate meat reduction strategies and targets in line with planetary health requirements, via our newly launched Rethinking Food workstream. Our work is based on scientific evidence and best practice and as such we are recognised as the credible partner on farm animal welfare to the major food retailers, food service companies, manufacturers and producers. The Food Business programme is increasingly global in its remit – through the supply chains of our partners, and through the expansion of the programme in the EU, US and most recently, Asia.
Location: Ideally based in the UK and will require some travel to Asia (dependant on travel restrictions)
Job type: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract until 30th September 2022
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 (dependent upon experience)
