Your new role


As part of delivering the Core Valley Lines (CVL) Transformation, part of the Wider Wales & Borders project, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Requirements and V&V Engineer to join the project’s Systems Engineering and Integration team.

The role will be responsible for managing the traceable development of the Project’s requirements from the Client Remit down, and the subsequent development of V&V evidence to demonstrate their delivery.

Whilst initially the role will be focused fulltime on the CVL Transformation, you will join Amey Consulting and have future opportunity to work as part of delivering the wider Amey Consulting’s portfolio. Whilst the project office is based in Treforest, South Wales, we welcome applications from those based elsewhere in the UK.


The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week.

You will be responsible for

  • Day to day leadership of the requirements management and V&V function on the CVL Transformation.
  • Manage the development of the Project’s requirements from the Client Remit down.
  • Develop and manage satisfaction linkages between different levels of requirements.
  • Manage the apportionment of requirements into scope packages for delivery.
  • Assure the quality of the Verification that is completed against the requirements.
  • Plan and manage the development of Validation activities required against the requirements.
  • Work closely with the Client to manage change and overall acceptance of the requirements delivery.
  • Manage the periodic reporting of metrics.
  • Manage and further develop (if required) the requirements management system ComplyPro.

We want to hear from you if you have

  • Demonstrable experience in the application and delivery of requirements management and V&V within major multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects.
  • Experience using Bentley ComplyPro or IBM DOORS
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple diverse workstreams simultaneously.
  • Current Professional Registration or be demonstrably working towards achieving this.
  • Experience and knowledge of other Systems Engineering tools and techniques, System Safety Engineering, RAMS and Human Factors would also be welcomed.
