At Elastic, we see endless possibility in a world of endless data. And we use the power of search to help people and organizations turn that possibility into results. Elastic is the leading platform for search-powered solutions. With solutions in Enterprise Search, Observability, and Security, we help improve customer and employee search experiences, keep critical applications running smoothly, and protect against cyber threats. Elastic enables organizations worldwide to use the power of Elastic, including Netflix, Uber, BBC, Microsoft, and thousands of others.

Elastic was built on a foundation of being free and open, which trickles down to how we work. We’re a distributed organization and have been from the beginning. Being distributed isn’t just a way of doing business—it’s a mentality that is at the core of our culture.

In this role, you will wake up each morning eager to build, drive, plan, and implement outstanding marketing programs, targeting prospects and existing customers, as well as contribute to the success of the U.S. Regional Marketing pipeline goals. To build programs that identify and engage with users of Elasticsearch and the ELK Stack, this role will involve daily interaction with the field sales team, requiring an understanding of the buying behavior in the U.S. Eastern Region and how it maps into the open source model and the Elastic go-to-market. You’ll be collaborating with teams across multiple different departments and do all of this while hosting and running your programs to precision.

The Senior Marketing Manager will lead a team, covering predominantly the Eastern United States and work closely with the Sales & Go-To-Market team to define their strategy. However, this role also involves close collaboration with many members of the marketing organization to deliver high quality campaigns with measurable metrics required to accelerate continued growth for Elastic. Programs include virtual and live campaigns, partner related activities, third party (regional) conferences, customer (account) specific programs and much more.

This role requires a combination of critical thinking, strong planning, organizational, and execution skills to successfully plan, develop, implement and measure field marketing activities to deliver marketing contribution to the sales and partner pipeline.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Digital: Plan and implement digital marketing campaigns to include account based marketing, webinars and virtual programs for top verticals within the Western US region and promotional materials: Work with Product Marketing to ensure distribution of (sometimes printed) materials such as case studies, datasheets, or give-aways to our local sales teams or whenever needed for campaigns.
  • Logistics: Place and lead shipments via our warehouse prior to execution of regional programs. Coordinate logistics, speakers, agendas, and staff for Elastic programs.
  • User/Customer Relation: Assist and contribute to building strong user/customer relationships to help build reference stories for the Customer Experience team that will be shared within the wider community.
  • Analysis: Regional reporting on program feedback, return on investment, attribution as well as iterations on future activities
  • Partners: Support and partner with local partner initiatives such as smaller seminars, lunch and learns, or programs.
  • Administrative: maintain and lead marketing calendar, regional budget, wiki, supervise speaking opportunities, research/complete third-party conferences and collect information for relevant programs across the regions to determine adjustments and improvements.
What You Bring Along:
  • Minimum 10 years experience in B2B tech marketing (open source and SaaS a bonus), from a regional or field perspective.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and establish strong working relationships with Sales, Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Operations, etc...

  • A natural flair to network with team members outside their own area of expertise.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and an eye for detail. Things move quickly here but there are always notes, spreadsheets, and lists needed to work with.
