Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Recruitment and HR Officerto join our team based inCheadle, Greater Manchester.You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30-34k per annum.

As Senior Recruitment and HR Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in ………………

managing the full end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for roles at Human Appeal’s UK and regional offices (USA, Canada), as well as managing the full employee lifecycle for Human Appeal’s regional office employees, in order to ensure the smooth running of HR operations at Human Appeal’s regional offices in-line with the best practice standards set at Human Appeal UK. We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Recruitment and HR Officer:

  • Ensure that all pre-employment checks, including Thomson Reuters screening, DBS checks, media screening and full reference checks, are conducted for UK and regional office staff before they start in post
  • Complete the full end-to-end recruitment process for all UK departments and HA regional offices, including writing Job Profiles, posting job adverts, shortlisting candidates, and arranging and conducting competency-based interviews
  • Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle at HA regional offices (USA, Canada) including all actions related to:
    • employee contracts and personnel file maintenance
    • payroll the employee leaver process
    • learning and development
    • performance management
    • employee relations
    • reward and recognition, and
    • the employee leaver process

What we’re looking for in our Senior Recruitment and HR Officer:

  • Ideally degree educated in a relevant field, such as Human Resource Management or qualified by experience with minimum GSCEs in Maths and English
  • 4+ years’ experience in a relevant role with HR generalist, recruitment and employee relations experience
  • Knowledge and experience of managing HR processes in other countries
  • Knowledge and experience of managing HR processes in USA and/or Canada specifically is desirable
  • Computer literate, with knowledge of HR systems such as People HR and Humentum desirable
  • Ability to work flexible hours where required for meetings and interviews, in-line with time differences at our regional office in USA and Canada
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, are desirable
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
