Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Coalville Salary: £25.00 - £28.00 per hour (umbrella) We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client Housing Asset Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the management and cost control of repairs and investment work for the Council’s housing stock. As a Senior QS, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient financial practices and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, customers, and stakeholders. Responsibilities: Coordinating and managing cost control and procedures for repairs and investment work in the Council’s housing stock. Supporting the Housing Asset Management Team in producing and maintaining accurate financial information in compliance with the Council’s standing orders. Implementing effective cost control measures and adhering to budgets for both external and internal contracts. Building and maintaining effective relationships with contractors, customers, and stakeholders, handling challenging situations as needed. Assisting the Housing Procurement Officer in contract procurement. Managing commercial and contractual arrangements associated with refurbishment and reactive repairs in Housing Asset Management. Producing financial reports to monitor monthly progress and predict outcomes. Preparing and submitting schedules of works, valuations for completed works, and conducting necessary site visits. Producing detailed subcontract enquiry documentation in collaboration with the Housing Asset Manager and Housing Assets Team Leader. Managing the procurement process, applications, and payment of in-house repairs teams and subcontractors in accordance with council financial standing orders and procedures.
