Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading residential developer who is searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The company has been operating for over 16 years and has built a reputation for building houses and apartment buildings.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor with Residential or Main Contracting experience who would like to join an Award-winning house developer who pride themselves on building quality prestigious developments.

You will be site based on a new and exciting project that will run until 2024, the project will consist of five new high-rise apartment blocks that will contain162 units.

The project will comprise of major groundworks, RC frame and cladding, glazing and interior fit-out elements and will have a total project value of £32 million.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Continually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.
  • Ensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the direction of the company.
  • Attend regular review and commercial control meetings.
  • Liaise closely with the Design and Project Management leads to ensure cross control.
  • Management of commercial risk.
  • Management of contract variations, valuations and final accounts.
  • Feedback to the Managing Surveyor of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.
  • Provide constructive comments on improving efficiency.
  • Have a good working knowledge MS Office - Intermediate level of Excel.
  • To be able to write clear and precise communications which might include detailed and complex figures, calculations and specific building information.
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills and the ability to learn construction management IT packages.
The Ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor Will Have
  • HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working as Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Main Contractor or Residential background.
  • Experience of JCT form of contract.
  • Commutable to Poole on a daily basis.
