The role of a Senior QC Chemist requires skills in both practical and theoretical analytical chemistry. The role is primarily laboratory based, conducting analysis on existing products and devising and implementing analytical methods for new products. A particular focus is driving improvement to the overall QC process and to our existing methods with a view to increasing reproducibility, increasing throughput, increasing sensitivity and reducing analysis costs.
What you’ll do
- Completion of scheduled work is on time and within budget.
- The progress of all material undergoing QC testing is accurately recorded.
- All material submitted for testing is completed as per the appropriate QCS document.
- Testing methods detailed on QCS documents are accurate and up to date.
- Method development work (optimisation of existing test or development of new test) is planned and executed efficiently and effectively.
- In the absence of the QC Manager, all failed batches are reported immediately to the Quality Manager.
- QCS / batch records are complete and accurate.
- Contributions are made to writing and revising of QC related documentation.
- Efficient and effective development of analytical testing methods of new products.
- Contribute in the alignment of Link analysis with those of customers.
- Processing of all NMR data and distribution to the Chemistry Team where appropriate.
- Batch conformance is reviewed prior to submission to QA.
- Master’s degree in synthetic organic chemistry with 1+ years’ wet lab or industry experience (pharma or biotech); or bachelor’s degree in chemistry 3+ years’ experience in an organic synthesis lab (including placement) or relevant PhD
- Ideally experience working in a quality regulated laboratory environment (ISO9001)
- Significant experience directly related to the oligo industry particularly NAC reagents.
