Now Careers are recruiting a Senior Project Engineer for a well-established Engineering Company on the outskirts of Newport. This is a unique opportunity to become part of the team, you will become a key part of the engineering team, leading and executing your own technical area to enable the successful delivery of the programme. As part of this team you will be given the opportunity to stretch and grow, and continuously develop in a dynamic and high performing group delivering a high-status project.

You will be an effective team member, working with contracts manager and project specific colleague to ensure the smooth workflow with maximum output for the Company on a nuclear project. The project engineer will be involved in all phases of the project life cycle and will have significant involvement working to the Project Programme including engineering, procurement, manufacture, fabrication, transportation, and all associated documentation & drawings.

You Will Have

5 years+ design experience in a highly regulated industry

Relevant Nuclear sector experience and/or the desire to work in nuclear

Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline

Prince 2 or equivalent Project Management qualification

Problem solving Techniques

ECDL (European Computer Driving License)

Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent level of IT skills

You Will Be

A self-starter, who works well independently and gets things done, completer finisher

Collaborative in approach, who engages with peers, and others alike.

Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.

Preparation and presentation of engineering reports and papers

Familiar with structure of typical engineering documents

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot errors

Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers and customers

Project management experience

Previous experience for working in an engineering environment

Ability to read and understand technical drawings

Familiar with recognised quality system & legislative requirements

Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information

The salary on offer is between £32,000 - £38,000 pa DOE this is a hybrid role after probations has been passed.
