Then we continuously refine our ideas – unwilling to compromise and driven by an obsession for finding a better way.About The RoleWe are looking for a talented Senior Programme Manager to lead the Design & Product Experience (D&PE) Programme team, who will span across the whole Dyson Portfolio & D&PE design disciplines. The D&PE teams, (Industrial Design, Packaging & Out of Box, Colour Material Finishes, UI & Product Experience), engage early on projects to drive to create the best holistic user experience for our products, with designers in both UK & Singapore.Through a team of Project Managers, this individual will be accountable for all activity and outputs of the D&PE Programme team. The PM team work closely together across the Dyson Portfolio to align the D&PE design functions and communicate the status and resource constraints to the wider business, in accordance with the Dyson governance processes. Its important that our designers are working together on the right projects at the right time and have a clear scope and deadline to work towards, with all the tools to meet their deliverables across a large portfolio of projects.Key Responsibilities Will Include
  • Tracking of projects and business priorities across the Dyson Portfolio, ensuring this is cascaded and available to the wider D&PE team.
  • Managing incoming projects into a robust structure and facilitating project kick offs.
  • Ensuring a clear communication structure from the working level to senior leadership level to enable efficient problem resolution and issue escalation.
  • Defining, communicating and tracking D&PE deliverables, keeping them up to date and refined as the business grows and develops.
  • Chairing weekly D&PE Milestone Phase Reviews to assess team’s readiness against the Dyson Product Creation Framework and provide an accurate and consistent update to key stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in the leadership community working collaboratively with peers, Category leads & Directors to develop organisational ways of working & continuously improve processes.
  • Manage the resource demand and allocation of the D&PE headcount, using resource management tools. Highlight future surplus/deficit challenges and work with the functions within D&PE to grow the team to the right size.
  • Defining and delivering the Programme Management vision and long-term plan in line with department strategy and business needs.
  • Recruitment and development of a Programme team, providing coaching, support and direction.
  • Promote Project Management principles and best practices in all aspects of work and act as mentor to other team members where appropriate.
About you
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Design/Engineering disciplines as well as Programme Management.
  • Experience in working with creative teams.
  • Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • Formal project management qualifications (PMP / PMQ / PRINCE2 or can demonstrate equivalent experience).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project.
  • Proven experience leading diverse teams, managing delivery of complex projects in a fast moving and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with credibility to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at a senior and executive level.
  • Expert in application of business processes and operational/development framework.
  • Strong commercial and operational awareness, able to think and plan strategically across the function.
  • Able to resolve conflict, inspire teams, mentor peers, and promote best practice.
  • Ability to solve unique and complex problems and operate within a level of ambiguity.
