About The Role

You are an experienced Product professional who lives to delight the customer, thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment, is passionate about product and who loves technology.

Creating Products Our Customers Love & Use: You’ll have solid experience in creating Product Strategies, Roadmaps and Backlogs that combine inputs from the market, our customers, our strategy and our team. You will be insatiably curious and always asking ‘why?’.

Vision, Strategy Discovery & Delivery: You are excited about taking an idea to market while simultaneously handling day-to-day product decisions - you get things done and can communicate both the long-term product vision and short term priorities to business stakeholders. You can strategise and deliver.

Proven Agile Delivery Experience: You’ll have strong experience working in lean, agile and tech-loving teams. You will be a problem solver and great leader, adept at understanding business processes and problems and translating them to the Tech team. You’ll remove roadblocks and help them do what they love best - to build great products.

Strive for Excellence: You’ll be passionate about moving SimplyVAT.com forward and be a champion of best practices, patterns, process and technology. You’ll understand the need for Quality and will know what a high-performing team looks like.

Tech Knowledge: You’ll love tech. A ‘polyglot’ with extensive experience across a wide range of technologies and projects. You’ll understand how developers work and what they need. You’ll have an ear to the ground as to what is new and what will take us forward.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with internal stakeholders, customers, partners, affiliates and the Tech team to define the SimplyVAT.com high level product strategy and product roadmap.
• Work at a more detailed level to define customer centric and feature based Product backlogs.
• Continuously liaise with different teams across the business to ensure we are aligned about creating the best, end-to-end experience for our clients and partners.
• Learn early and often from our (prospective) clients and partners.
• Deliver products that our customers love that are fit for purpose and commercially successful.
• Facilitate consistent and regular communications about product performance, feature releases and customer insights.
• Drive ongoing product planning and prioritisation, involving key stakeholders in the process.
• Be part of an ambitious, goal oriented business, creating a brighter future for the businesses and lives of our clients.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

• Experience with owning the end to end product lifecycle for a number of successful products, comfortable with making tough trade-off decisions along the way.
• Excellent understanding of Scrum and other Agile ways of working. Able to lead Scrum ceremonies and coach and develop our Agile processes.
• Strong experience of customer first thinking, implementing customer learnings into a product or feature.
• Strong experience of being hypothesis and data driven - taking a scientific approach to product development but also understanding the value of qualitative evidence.
• Strong commercial experience and comfortable working closely with sales, marketing, customer and partner & affiliates teams.
• A strong collaborator - able to bring people and ideas together from both within and outside the business.
• The ability to collate and synthesise ideas and information from multiple sources into an actionable strategy and product roadmap.
• Experience with measuring, analysing and communicating Product performance.
• Great communication skills at all levels - comfortable and credible working with customers, the exec team, our Technical team and anyone.
• A super-fast learner - able to digest and understand the complex and ever changing world of tax. You will have a growth mindset and a willingness to adapt and learn.
• An understanding of Tax would be really beneficial but is not necessary.
