We are currently working with a well established client who provide leading energy solutions to their clients. They are looking for a Procurement manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Ideal candidates will have experience from both the prviare and public sector. And have strong commercial and contract negotiation skills.

Salary - £50,000 - £65,000 - Experience dependent.

Location - Scotland or North East of England. Our client has offices across the country and there doesn’t need to be any commitment to work from the office. Instead, regular stakeholder site visits will be key.



This is an important role for the Procurement Function which is challenged with delivering a decentralised procurement support service within an autonomous and nationally-spread organisation. This role is specifically responsible for:

➢ Delivering professional procurement services to internal customers at all levels in the Business Unit(s) they may be responsible for.

➢ Ownership of the entire procurement process for their business unit including any governance processes related to supply chain.

➢ Execute procurement strategies that maximise supplier leverage in a complex matrix organisation ➢ Lead on supplier and subcontractor agreements whilst liaising with operational, commercial and legal colleagues to ensure risks are appropriately addressed

➢ Produce monthy reporting on procurement performance, savings forecast, updates on initiatives and Procurement led projects and present to senior stakeholders

➢ Identifying and delivering value (including bottom line savings) on an ongoing basis and to meet specific in-year targets.

➢ Proactively and professionally engaging with internal customers to understand their specific requirements linked to end customer commitments.

➢ Managing those suppliers who deliver services that are specific to the Business Unit and sourcing new suppliers who are best able to meet the needs of the Business; ensuring best value, fitness for purpose, risk reduction and a quality service to the end customer.

➢ Identifying opportunities to deliver value by aligning with our Category approach and managing the successful delivery and transparent reporting of deliverables.

➢ Driving compliance to our preferred suppliers to maximise commercial reward

➢ Driving innovation into our customer offerings

➢ Streamlining procurement processes and procedures.

➢ Exceeding on our sustainability commitments by maximinising opportunities for SMEs and Social Enterprises.

➢ Managing a small team of procurement managers and ensure their objectives are aligned to the business strategy.
