This is an exciting time of major growth for our UK business and we are now looking for someone with excellent knowledge and understanding of extrusion systems to join us in a critical Supply Chain leadership role at our North West site. Owning the operational process implementation of our new production line, the successful candidate will drive up yields and quality assurance levels through strong leadership and management activity across key manufacturing projects and performance indicator areas. Your ongoing primary focus will be to define and deliver continuous improvement opportunities while building your influence across our diverse teams, resulting in enhanced customer experiences and industry expectations being consistently exceeded.

Responsibilities

  • Support the commissioning of new equipment in full compliance with all relevant standards
  • Lead engineers and operators in solving high priority challenges using proven business methodologies
  • Directing site engineering activities to ensure optimum production rates and high-quality standards
  • Identify new methods, equipment and capital investment needs to improve machine efficiencies
  • Develop and introduce an effective Preventative Maintenance System
  • Implement best practice manufacturing methods into production, developing close working relationships with global engineering teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • BA in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong foundational knowledge in thermoplastic processing, including material science and polymer extrusion
  • Exceptional communication skills and can effectively engage both internal and external customers
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience including leading and managing teams
  • High level project management ability
  • Certification and/or relevant experience in continuous improvement practices e.g. LEAN, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, PDCA, TQM etc
  • Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, groups of managers, and suppliers
