Look no further... my client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of electric motors and integrated controls. They are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to work at their flagship in Newtown, Wales. Their motors are used mainly for industrial applications in various industries. Anywhere you have an electric motor driving a system.

This includes renewable power generation, air purifying systems and mining applications. Their technology is now being picked up by automotive companies and other transport systems.

Nonetheless, they develop a range of devices from 100watts to 500kw and their engineers have the chance to work on everything!

The Successful Senior Power Electronics Engineer Responsibilities Will Include

  • Creation of new designs
  • Design of critical power components
  • Design and develop analogue, digital, electronic circuits and systems for power electronics
  • To implement designs, personally, and through other team members, which meet agreed functional design requirements and conforms to international EMC and Safety requirements and regulations

Qualifications, Experience, and profile of the Senior Power Electronics Engineer:

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering (or similar discipline)
  • Some industrial experience as a Power Electronics Engineer
  • Must have an understanding of power electronic devices, topologies and control systems.
  • Ability to build prototypes, experimentation on systems and bench test.
  • Have an awareness and desire to explore emerging technology, innovating ways to incorporate that into designs and products.

They use all the latest technology including Silicon Carbide components and digital controls. Additionally, you can work on Low, Medium and High-power products expanding your technical knowledge massively. There are very few companies that can offer this.

They have an amazing office with a state of the art, custom testing facility on their Wales site.
